CHEST

Partner Standing Chest Press

BeginnerBodyweight

A standing chest press done with a partner and a loop band, working the chest, shoulders, and triceps. Pressing against the band's dynamic resistance builds functional pressing strength and stability, and it adds a cooperative, balance-focused element to your session.

How to do it

  1. 1

Stand back-to-back with your partner and loop a band around both of your chests.

  2. 2

Grab the band with both hands using an overhand grip, holding it in place.

  3. 3

Position your hands in front of your chest.

  4. 4

Adjust the tension by stepping away from your partner or taking up slack between your hands.

  5. 5

Brace your core, pull your shoulder blades down and back, and hold good posture.

  6. 6

Press your arms forward using your chest, triceps, and shoulders, then return slowly under control.
