CHEST
Machine Bench Press
A chest press performed on a machine that guides you along a fixed path. Working the chest, shoulders, and triceps, the locked track lets you learn the pressing pattern or push hard without worrying about balance. It's a beginner-friendly way into pressing and a safe option for high effort.
How to do it
- 1
Sit upright in the machine with your shoulder blades pulled together and your feet planted flat under your knees.
- 2
Keep your head, shoulders, and hips in contact with the back pad throughout.
- 3
Grip the handles with an overhand grip just outside shoulder-width.
- 4
Brace your core and press through your palms to extend your arms, keeping your elbows around 45 degrees from your torso.
- 5
Extend until your arms are straight.
- 6
Return the handles to the starting position under control and repeat.
