BICEPS

Waiter Curls

BeginnerBodyweight

Waiter curls have you hold a single dumbbell flat in both palms like you're carrying a tray, which forces palms-up wrists and tight elbows throughout. That position emphasizes control and squeezes the biceps hard, making it a solid isolation move for arm shape and grip stability.

How to do it

  1. 1

Stand with your feet about shoulder-width apart and knees slightly bent.

  2. 2

Cup the top head of a single dumbbell in both hands with your palms facing up.

  3. 3

Curl the dumbbell up toward your chest by contracting your biceps, keeping your elbows locked at your sides.

  4. 4

Squeeze and pause briefly at the top of the curl.

  5. 5

Lower the dumbbell back down slowly, keeping your palms up and tension on the biceps.
