BICEPS

Single Arm Cable Bicep Curl

BeginnerCable

A one-arm cable curl that isolates the biceps while asking your core to keep you upright. Training a single arm means your dominant side can't take over, so imbalances get exposed and evened out. The cable keeps steady tension on the muscle from bottom to top.

How to do it

  1. 1

Set the pulley to its lowest position and stand facing the machine, feet about shoulder-width apart.

  2. 2

Take the handle in one hand with an underhand grip and let the arm hang at your side.

  3. 3

Bend the elbow to curl the handle up toward your shoulder, keeping the elbow pinned to your torso.

  4. 4

Lower the handle back down under control, then repeat on the other arm.

  5. 5

Resist the pull toward the working side with your core rather than leaning into the movement.
