BICEPS
Machine Bicep Curl
The machine biceps curl isolates the biceps along a fixed path, with your upper arms braced against a pad. That built-in stability removes the need to balance the weight, so you can push the muscle hard. The set groove makes it a good option for learning the curl or training close to failure safely.
How to do it
- 1
Sit in the machine with your chest tall and your upper arms resting flat on the pad.
- 2
Grip the handles underhand with your elbows fixed against the pads.
- 3
Curl the handles up by bending your elbows, keeping your upper arms pressed to the pad and shoulders still.
- 4
Pause briefly at the top of the curl.
- 5
Lower the handles back down under control to the starting position.
