BICEPS

Dumbbell Bicep Curl

BeginnerDumbbell

The dumbbell biceps curl is a go-to isolation move for building the biceps. Using separate dumbbells stops your stronger arm from taking over and gives you free range of motion. It's a workout staple and one of the simplest ways to add size and strength to the arms.

How to do it

  1. 1

Stand tall holding a dumbbell in each hand at your sides with palms turned toward you.

  2. 2

Brace your core and curl one dumbbell up by bending the elbow.

  3. 3

Rotate your wrist as you lift so your palm faces up near the top.

  4. 4

Keep your elbow pinned to your side and raise the dumbbell to shoulder height without leaning back.

  5. 5

Lower it back down under control, rotating your palm back in, then curl with the other arm.
