TRICEPS
Machine Tricep Extension
A machine triceps extension that isolates the muscle with a stable, fixed path. Resting your elbows on the pad ensures the movement comes purely from the triceps without help from other muscles. It's an easy exercise to load progressively for arm size and strength.
How to do it
- 1
Sit upright in the machine with the backs of your arms resting on the pads.
- 2
Bend your elbows to grab the handles with a neutral, palms-in grip.
- 3
With your upper arms in front of your shoulders and against the pad, straighten your elbows to press the handles down.
- 4
Keep your upper arms pinned to the pad throughout.
- 5
Stop just short of fully locking out, then let the handles rise back to the start under control.
- 6
Repeat for your reps.
