TRICEPS

Machine Tricep Dip

BeginnerMachine

A machine dip that loads the triceps through a stable, guided path. Because you're pressing a weight stack instead of your bodyweight, you can fine-tune the resistance to match your strength. It's a smart stepping stone toward full bodyweight dips and a solid triceps builder in its own right.

How to do it

  1. 1

Sit upright in the dip machine with your lower back and shoulders against the back pad.

  2. 2

Grip the handles with your palms facing in and your elbows bent to about 90 degrees.

  3. 3

Keep your elbows tucked close to your body as you press the handles down.

  4. 4

Extend your arms until they're straight.

  5. 5

Bend your elbows to let the handles rise back to the starting position under control.

  6. 6

    Repeat for your reps.
