TRICEPS
EZ-Bar Overhead Tricep Extension
A standing overhead triceps extension using an EZ-bar, whose angled grip is easier on the wrists and lets you load heavier than most isolation moves. Doing it on your feet adds a stability challenge, making it useful for building triceps strength you can actually use.
How to do it
- 1
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and a soft bend in your knees.
- 2
Grip an EZ-bar on the inner angles and set it behind your head with your elbows pointing up.
- 3
Squeeze your triceps to press the bar overhead while keeping your elbows fixed in place.
- 4
Lower the bar back behind your head slowly, maintaining tension on the triceps.
- 5
Keep your core braced and your back straight, and don't let your lower back arch as you press up.
- 6
You should feel the work concentrated in your triceps.
