TRICEPS
Dumbbell Tricep Extension
An overhead triceps isolation move using a single dumbbell held in both hands. Extending the arms above your head puts the triceps through a long stretch, which is effective for building size in the back of the arm. Can be done seated or standing, with the focus on controlled elbow movement.
How to do it
- 1
Sit on a bench with a straight back, holding one dumbbell vertically in both hands at chest height, palms up toward the ceiling.
- 2
Brace your core and press the dumbbell overhead with your elbows pointing forward.
- 3
Keep your upper arms beside your ears as you bend your elbows to lower the dumbbell behind your head.
- 4
Lower until your forearms touch your biceps, then extend your arms to press the dumbbell back overhead.
