TRICEPS

Cable One Arm Underhand Tricep Extension

IntermediateCable

A one-arm cable triceps extension using an underhand grip, which makes it easier to keep the elbow tucked close to your side and locked in place. Running each arm on its own means a weaker side can't hide behind the stronger one. Constant cable tension keeps the triceps loaded through the full range.

How to do it

  1. 1

Line one arm up with the cable and grip the handle with your palm facing upward.

  2. 2

Extend at the elbow to press the handle downward, driving through the triceps.

  3. 3

Let your forearm rotate so your palm turns in toward you as you reach the bottom.

  4. 4

Squeeze the triceps and hold briefly at full extension.

  5. 5

Return the handle up slowly, keeping the muscle under tension and your wrist straight.

  6. 6

Keep your elbow glued to your side and your core tight throughout.
