TRICEPS
Cable One Arm Tricep Side Extension
A single-arm cable extension that isolates the triceps from an unusual angle, working the muscle across your body rather than straight overhead or down. Training one arm at a time removes the chance of a stronger side taking over. The off-center pull also makes your core work to keep you from twisting.
How to do it
- 1
Stand beside the cable machine, positioned slightly behind the line of the cable.
- 2
Reach up and across with the arm farthest from the stack and take the handle, palm facing you.
- 3
Keeping that elbow fixed at your side, contract the triceps to pull the handle down and across your body.
- 4
Hold for a beat at the bottom of the range.
- 5
Ease the weight back up slowly while keeping tension on the triceps.
- 6
Stay tall with your core braced and shoulders back, resisting any urge to rotate.
