QUADS
TRX Crossing Balance Lunge
A curtsey-style lunge where one leg crosses behind the other, shifting emphasis onto the quads and glutes while challenging your hip stability. The TRX straps steady you so you can focus on driving through the working leg rather than fighting for balance, and they help you back up as you tire. A beginner-friendly way to train a tricky lunge pattern.
How to do it
- 1
Stand on one straight leg with the other knee bent behind you, holding the TRX handles at shoulder height with bent elbows.
- 2
Bend the standing knee to lower into a lunge as you extend your arms, until the rear knee hovers just above the floor.
- 3
Press back up to the start.
- 4
Use the straps for balance and support as needed.
- 5
Repeat on the other side.
