QUADS

1-Step Box Jump

BeginnerBodyweight

A box jump with a single approach step added, so you generate momentum before takeoff. It trains explosive power through the quads, glutes and calves while sharpening timing and coordination. A solid entry point for building vertical drive and athletic bounce.

How to do it

  1. 1

Set a box a few feet in front of you and pick a height you can clear safely.

  2. 2

Keep your chest lifted and your eyes fixed on your landing spot.

  3. 3

Take a step toward the box, swinging your arms back and hinging your hips as you sink slightly.

  4. 4

As your trailing foot lands, throw your arms forward and drive hard through your legs to launch upward.

  5. 5

Land quietly on top with both feet, absorbing the impact by bending your knees and sitting your hips back.
