Single Arm Overhead Kettlebell Squat

AdvancedKettlebell

An advanced overhead squat loaded with a single kettlebell instead of a barbell. It mainly drives the quads, but holding the weight overhead on one side throws in real instability that your core has to manage. Great for building squat depth alongside serious trunk and shoulder control.

How to do it

  1. 1

Clean a kettlebell to shoulder height in one hand, then press it overhead with your palm facing forward and hold it locked out.

  2. 2

Keep your weight balanced evenly across both feet.

  3. 3

Start the descent by pushing your hips slightly back.

  4. 4

Let your knees track out over your toes as you sink between your legs, keeping your torso upright and core braced.

  5. 5

Squat to a depth where you can hold a neutral spine, then drive back up to standing.

  6. 6

Finish the set, then switch the kettlebell to the other hand and repeat.
