QUADS
Machine Leg Press
A machine press that loads the quads through a guided pressing path. It builds size and strength in the front of the thighs, and the fixed track keeps things stable so you can push hard. Your exact setup will vary a little depending on the machine you use.
How to do it
- 1
Sit in the leg press with your shoulders and hips against the back pad and your feet shoulder-width apart, slightly turned out, on the platform.
- 2
Set your heels just below your knees and spread the weight evenly across your feet.
- 3
Grab the brace bars and brace your core so your lower back and shoulders stay on the pad.
- 4
Keeping your heels down, press the platform away until just short of fully locking your knees.
- 5
Lower the platform back under control.
- 6
Repeat for your reps without letting your knees cave inward.
