QUADS

Kneel to Stand

BeginnerBodyweight

A functional move that takes you from kneeling up to standing and back down. Working the quads, glutes and core, it builds the strength and coordination you need for more explosive actions like sprinting or jumping. It's also a good way to develop lower-body endurance and balance.

How to do it

  1. 1

Kneel with both knees on the floor, about shoulder-width apart.

  2. 2

Bring one leg forward into a half-kneeling position with that foot planted firmly.

  3. 3

Drive through the front foot to stand up tall, bringing the other leg forward to meet it.

  4. 4

Reverse the sequence to return to kneeling.

  5. 5

    Repeat, alternating the leading leg.
