A machine-based squat where your shoulders sit under pads and your feet drive against a platform. The fixed path adds stability and controls your range, letting you load the quads heavily while focusing on effort rather than balance.

How to do it

  1. 1

    Position yourself in the machine with your shoulders under the pads and feet about shoulder-width apart.

  2. 2

    With knees slightly bent, lower into the squat by pushing your hips back.

  3. 3

    Let your knees track over your second toe while keeping your core tight and spine flat.

  4. 4

    Once your knees reach about 90 degrees, press back up keeping your back straight.

  5. 5

    Keep your feet flat and weight even, and repeat for your target reps.
