Balance Trainer Hesitation Lunges

IntermediateBodyweight

A lunge with a deliberate toe-tap on a BOSU dome before each rep, adding a pause and a balance test. The hesitation and unstable contact ramp up muscle activation and control through the legs and core. A step up from standard lunges for anyone wanting more stability work.

How to do it

  1. 1

Stand behind the balance trainer with one foot on the floor and the other lightly touching the dome.

  2. 2

Tap your foot on the dome, then step firmly onto it and lower into a lunge.

  3. 3

Press back to the start, then alternate the tap and lunge.

  4. 4

Complete your reps on one side, then switch to the other leg.

  5. 5

Keep your posture upright and your core braced throughout.

  6. 6

Move with control on each tap rather than rushing.
