CALVES
AB-Skips
AB-Skips are a fast, sprint-style drill that drives the knees high and finishes with an active snap of the foot back into the ground. It fires up the quads, hamstrings and calves while the core works to keep you steady. Athletes use it to build speed, rhythm and running efficiency.
How to do it
- 1
Stand with feet slightly wider than hips, knees bent, chest up and eyes forward.
- 2
Shift onto the balls of your feet and hop just off the ground.
- 3
On landing, hop again and drive one knee up with the shin bent to ninety degrees.
- 4
Pump the opposite arm in a running motion.
- 5
Hop on the standing leg, then extend the raised foot forward and snap it down, sweeping the leg back under you so both feet land together.
- 6
Hop again and drive the other knee up, continuing to alternate sides.
