SHOULDERS
Standing Single Arm Dumbbell Shoulder Press
This is an overhead press done standing with a single dumbbell. Loading just one side pulls you off balance, so your core has to fight to keep you upright, and it stops your stronger arm from compensating. Standing makes it more functional and adds a real stability challenge.
How to do it
- 1
Stand with feet hip-width apart and knees slightly bent.
- 2
Hold a dumbbell in one hand up beside your head, palm facing forward.
- 3
Place your free hand on your hip or stomach to help you stay steady.
- 4
Brace your core and press the weight straight overhead.
- 5
Pause at the top, then lower slowly with control. Finish your reps, then switch sides.
