SHOULDERS

Standing Arnold Press

IntermediateBodyweight

The standing Arnold press works the shoulders while adding a palm rotation that increases the range of motion and muscle activation. Doing it on your feet brings the core and legs in to stabilize, making it more functional than the seated version. It's a well-rounded shoulder builder for strength and size.

How to do it

  1. 1

Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand with palms facing in and the bells in front of your shoulders, elbows tucked.

  2. 2

Press the dumbbells overhead while rotating your palms so they face forward at the top.

  3. 3

Extend fully until your arms are locked out over your shoulders.

  4. 4

Reverse the motion, rotating your palms back to face in as you lower.

  5. 5

Return the dumbbells to the front of your shoulders and repeat.
