PVC Shoulder External Rotation
This drill targets the rotator cuff by using a PVC pipe to assist external rotation of one shoulder at a time. The light leverage lets you ease into range safely, which makes it useful for warming up or shoulder rehab.
How to do it
- 1
Stand upright with feet about shoulder width apart.
- 2
Take the pipe in your right hand and bring it up and over the back of your right shoulder, upper arm level with your shoulders.
- 3
Grip the lower end of the pipe with your left hand using an overhand grip.
- 4
Pull up gently with your left hand, rotating the right shoulder back until you feel an easy stretch.
- 5
Hold for 15 to 30 seconds, then swap sides.
