Mini Loop Band Scapular Retraction
This move uses a mini loop band to train scapular retraction, strengthening the muscles that pull your shoulder blades together. Building these muscles supports better posture and helps protect the shoulders. The band's rising tension makes the squeeze at the end of the range work harder.
How to do it
- 1
Grab a mini loop band with both fists, palms up, elbows bent to 90 degrees and tucked at your sides.
- 2
Stand tall with your core engaged.
- 3
Keeping your elbows pinned at your sides, pull your fists apart to the outside of your torso.
- 4
As you spread the band, squeeze your shoulder blades together.
- 5
Return to the start under control and repeat for your reps.
