Landmine Press and Catch

This is a dynamic take on the landmine press that has you launch the weight from one hand and catch it with the other. Working one arm at a time exposes any strength gap between sides and forces your shoulders and core to stabilize on the fly. The catch trains you to absorb load, which carries over well to athletic movement.

How to do it

    Set up facing the landmine with feet about shoulder-width apart and knees softly bent.

    Cradle the end of the bar in one hand up near your shoulder.

  3. 3

    Drive powerfully through your shoulder and chest so the bar arcs up and over toward your opposite side.

  4. 4

    Let go and let the weight travel across to your other hand.

  5. 5

    Catch it out in front of you and decelerate it smoothly back down to that shoulder.

  6. 6

    Keep your core tight and chest lifted, and drive the bar forward rather than leaning your bodyweight into it.
