Dumbbell Standing Single Arm Front Press
This single-arm press starts with the dumbbell held in front of the shoulder and elbow underneath, a more functional pressing position. Working one side while standing forces the shoulder's stabilizers and your core to engage to keep good posture. It's a great way to build balanced, usable shoulder strength.
How to do it
- 1
Hold a dumbbell in one hand in front of your shoulder, palm facing out.
- 2
Stand with feet hip-width apart and knees slightly bent.
- 3
Brace your core, keep your back straight, and look forward.
- 4
Rest your free hand on your hip or stomach for stability.
- 5
Press the dumbbell overhead by extending your arm, pause at the top, then lower under control. Finish one side before switching.
