SHOULDERS
Dumbbell Standing Front Press
An overhead press done standing, which means your core and legs have to stabilize the load along with your shoulders. That standing demand builds more functional strength than a seated version. Dumbbells also keep both sides working evenly, so one arm can't cover for the other.
How to do it
- 1
Hold a dumbbell in each hand at the front of your shoulders, palms facing inward.
- 2
Set your feet hip-width apart with a slight bend in your knees.
- 3
Keep your core tight, back straight, and eyes forward.
- 4
Press both dumbbells straight up overhead until your arms extend.
- 5
Hold briefly at the top, then lower the dumbbells slowly back to your shoulders.
