HAMSTRINGS
Kneeling Hamstring Stretch
A kneeling stretch that lengthens the hamstring of the extended leg. Improving flexibility here helps your hips and knees move through a fuller range and can lower your injury risk. It also carries over to better performance in lifts that lean on the hamstrings.
How to do it
- 1
Kneel with your knees under your hips and toes pointed back.
- 2
Extend one leg straight in front, heel on the floor and toes pulled toward the ceiling.
- 3
Hinge forward from the hips with a flat back, reaching toward the extended toes until you feel a hamstring stretch.
- 4
Only reach as far as your flexibility comfortably allows.
- 5
Hold for the duration of the stretch.
- 6
Switch sides and repeat.
