ABS

Windshield Wiper

IntermediateBodyweight

The windshield wiper is a floor-based core exercise that works the obliques by swinging the legs side to side. Because it's done on your back rather than hanging, it needs less upper-body strength while still hammering rotational core stability. It's a strong builder of oblique and anti-rotation strength.

How to do it

  1. 1

Lie on your back with your legs extended straight up over your hips.

  2. 2

Stretch your arms out beside your torso for support.

  3. 3

Keeping your heels together, lower your legs toward one side.

  4. 4

Stop when your foot is about a foot off the floor, controlling the motion.

  5. 5

Bring your legs back to center, then sweep to the other side and continue.
