ABS

Stability Ball Russian Twist

IntermediateStability ball

Sitting your upper back on a stability ball turns the Russian twist into a balance challenge, forcing the obliques and deep core to keep you steady as you rotate. The wobble ups the difficulty over the floor version. Good for adding intensity to your oblique work.

How to do it

  1. 1

Rest your hips and lower back on a stability ball with both feet flat on the floor, roughly shoulder-width apart.

  2. 2

Extend your arms out in front of your chest and brace your core.

  3. 3

Rotate slowly to one side, keeping your arms leading the movement.

  4. 4

Return through the center and rotate to the other side.

  5. 5

Keep your chest up and back straight, feeling the work in your abs and obliques.
