PVC Lateral Bend

BeginnerBodyweight

A mobility drill using a PVC pipe racked across the back to guide a clean sideways bend. It opens up the obliques and improves how far your torso can move side to side. A simple, low-effort addition for flexibility and core range of motion.

How to do it

  1. 1

Stand with feet a bit wider than your shoulders and knees softly bent.

  2. 2

Rest a PVC pipe across your upper back, as if setting up for a back squat.

  3. 3

Hold the pipe with both hands, palms facing forward.

  4. 4

Bend to one side, reaching that end of the pipe toward the floor while keeping your back tall.

  5. 5

Feel the stretch along the opposite side of your torso and pause briefly.

  6. 6

Return to upright, then repeat toward the other side.
