Decline Russian Twists

IntermediateBodyweight

Russian twists done on a decline bench, which lengthens the range and keeps more tension on the core than the floor version. Rotating a weight to each side hits the obliques hard and builds rotational stability.

How to do it

  1. 1

Set the decline bench and hook your legs in securely.

  2. 2

Hold a weight plate in both hands, a few inches off your torso.

  3. 3

Brace your core and recline until your torso is roughly perpendicular to the bench.

  4. 4

Twist slowly to one side, keeping the plate the same distance from your body.

  5. 5

Reverse the motion and twist to the other side, keeping your chest up and shoulders back.
