BACK

TRX Row

BeginnerTRX

The TRX row is a bodyweight row on suspension straps that primarily builds the back. Each hand works its own handle, so neither side can compensate for the other, and the straps add instability that recruits your stabilizers. Stepping closer to or farther from the anchor lets you add or remove resistance mid-set.

How to do it

  1. 1

Stand tall, feet shoulder-width apart, gripping the TRX handles with palms facing in just below your chest.

  2. 2

Brace your core to hold a straight line from heels to shoulders.

  3. 3

Keeping your chest up and shoulders back, extend your elbows fully so your body angles back toward horizontal.

  4. 4

Hold that rigid line as you bend your elbows to pull yourself back up to the start.

  5. 5

Repeat for your reps, adjusting your foot position to set the resistance.
