Loop Band Straight-Arm Pull Down
This move recreates the straight-arm pulldown using a loop band anchored overhead, keeping the focus squarely on the lats. Standing to perform it also brings the core into play for stability. It's a portable way to build back strength and lat definition without a cable machine.
How to do it
- 1
Anchor a loop band to something solid above head height.
- 2
Grip the hanging end with both hands, keeping some space between them and palms facing each other.
- 3
Set your distance so there's tension, then stand with feet shoulder-width apart and knees slightly bent.
- 4
Hinge your hips back and extend your arms up toward the anchor so the band is taut.
- 5
Keeping your core tight and arms straight, sweep your arms down in an arc to your body.
- 6
Hold briefly, then return under control and repeat.
